Tamar Otter Sanctuary

Cornwall

This wildlife park which was previously the Cornish branch of the Otter Trust is on a little backroad in rural east Cornwall. As well as the otters there is a wildfowl pond and a woodland walk with deer and, if you're very very lucky, dormice inhabiting the woods. They have plenty of native British otters and Asian short-claws in enclosures which seem to be a good mixture of visitor visibility and otter happiness. Feeding time is very entertaining and informative.

Two hours is plenty of time to see the enclosures and wander the woods, but just hang around in the tranquil surrounding and be entertained by the otters. The cafe is the usual fare for a small wildlife park and the shop has a small selection of ottery stuff.
